NOTE: The current run of SOL Pins has sold out. I might make another run someday, but I currently do not have the cash to front the manufacture. If you would like to front the next run (~$350), let me know.

As of February, 2004, my TR7 has been sold. My current ride is a 2004 Chevrolet Impala SS. It's nice and big for my wife and I to enjoy our road trips, quieter and more reliable. Along with the aging 1992 Honda Accord LX and 1987 Dodge Dakota pickup truck, I didn't have the room for or the money to keep the TR7. I hope that Greg is enjoying the car!! I think I can find the stuff for another run of pins though if anyone's interested in taking this up.

If you're curious about the meaning of the initials, they stand for Scions Of Lucas. Lucas is the manufacturer of many of the electrical components for British Cars. The Lucas products have a reputation for slightly less than reliable operation.

The pins are stamped out of nickel (I think), constructed with four colors (blue, red, green, and black), and covered with a thick plastic coating to protect the colors. The white was omitted since the lines got too fine on the finished product and it would have cost more to have it added anyway. The workmanship of the pins is very good, but not perfect. I think that they are mass produced by machine, and the quality control is not perfect. I'm trying to send out the best ones for now. The more imperfect ones will be sold at my cost ($1.05 instead of $1.25). The imperfections are not too severe, but some pins have gaps in the color or slight imperfections in the stamping. I realize that this is my judgement call, and I hope that no one is dissatisfied so far. If you want one of the imperfect ones, let me know in your request.

If you'd like to own one of these pins, please send me an email message at babcock9@juno.com .

NOTE: Pricing information is out-of-date!

The pins are 1" in size (diagonal measurement). The cost of these pins is US$1.25 with the shipping charges additional. The padded envelope will cost you $.50 and you should include $.25 for each group of three to cover postage. So an order for one pin would be $2.00, two pins is $3.25, and three pins is $4.50. Four would be $6.00, 5 would be $7.25, 6 would be $8.50, and 7 would be $10.00. Rates to Canadian members will be slightly higher, but I haven't figured out how much yet. I'll let you know when necessary.

I can ship to foreign addresses, but you have to get me the currency. One list member sent me cash (US dollars) without a problem. My bank seems to be happy accepting money orders which are in US funds. Be aware that your foreign check may clear before you get the pins. This is because I need to be sure that the bank will accept the note. You might have to pay duty fees since I have to declare the package contents. When I sent a package to Belgium, customs ignored the duty since the declared value was very low. You might be as lucky! The total weight of three pins with a padded envelope is 1 ounce. I sent this package to Belgium for less than $1.00.

Some folks have expressed interest in a car badge. At this time, I don't expect to be making a car badge any time soon. I haven't ruled it out yet, but I don't have the cash to front the manufacture of either badges or pins right now. I'll keep you posted here as things change. If you'd like information about the badge manufacturer that did the pins, send me some email.
